sittin in my room
on a friday night
playin my guitar
don't care what they say i should like
bars, cars, people with no hearts
will not even give my song the waste
of the likeness of your face
gone so far from grace
in the madness of your ways

better i cannot be
than thee
'cause better is not for me
'cause for me?
better relies too heavily
on the meaning you choose so randomly
depending on the day and how you see
the good, the bad, and the ugly

am i right or am i right?
she laughs in their sight
as they admire
her intentional might
yet... so... far from... delight
as the thoughts of fright invade the mind
in kind
she responds
with despair

a time for reflection
on the meaning and traction
of her convictions, predilections
no time for fiction

sittin' at her desk
hoping to transcend the test
of time unbehest by the best
those walkers and the smoothest talkers
who think all her conclusions are manifest'
with what she says
with arms reserved for others
feeding me the indigest
and the fragments of themselves

that nobody else bothered to see

you cannot resist nature.

and really, it is natural to all living things to instinctually fight for their survival. when the cards are down, we all revert to that blind state.

there has been so much said about the tamil protests in toronto, but i saw some of the photos recently and felt very strongly. i am actually very proud to see humans standing up for something they believe in. i am sure all the information is distorted, and we all know that governments are just legalized forms of terrorist organizations. whoever controls the media controls the mindset?

it brought me to tears to see all of those people marching onto and closing down the gardner, to see the cops standing at the front realizing their weakness when faced with a mass of people who blatantly disagree with what is happening to their own people. does it even matter who the people are? do the innocents (who are many) between the warriors not deserve mercy? what is wrong with people... yes, i believe in their cause because every day hundreds die and i don't care who calls them terrorists, everyone's a fucking terrorist, what is a terrorist but someone with an opinion that differs from those of the majority?

it is sad that traffic problems is what cause this to be 'big news'.

who are we to judge...we work all day, all week at our silly little jobs only to see a huge percentage eaten up by taxes and shit we will most likely never use, we are lied to every day by corporations (gov't, inc.), we are subjected to so much we don't even know about because it is hidden from our view. we hate the governments that are presented to us during the big joke of an election that we hold every so often, yet we say and do nothing. nothing but vote for the cream of the crap and pretend the illusion is real.

complacent = complicit. power in numbers. there are 2.5 million people living in Toronto alone and hundreds of millions across the country. why are we so quick to judge the Tamils when we choose every day to do nothing about the way we are exploited by our own government?

i mean, look at some of these comments:
http://www.citynews.ca/news/news_34563.aspx

i think a lot of people were feeling angry and upset because in some way they have been forced to see their own inactivity. and what is a "good citizen"? one who bends over without being told.

anyway, i'm just as guilty as the rest of us for being lazy, but it really touched me to see the persistence and the community demonstrated... we should all take a lesson from this; we are the many, they are the few.

and the sun still shines.

this morning i was entering the subway station only to realize i lost one of my earrings' stoppers, thus making them unwearable until i go home. bummer. but on the plus side, i didn't lose the earring itself. bonus.

went for a walk this afternoon during my lunch hour only to see the beauty that is going on right beneath our noses... spring time in the city. even the industrial wastelands of scarborough have their charm with the greenery and sunshine. in my mind when i leave for a walk, i sometimes feel as if i should have an objective, but in reality the walk is the objective, so relax.

soak in the sunlight, the chirps of birds and buzzing of bees, the sweet flowery aroma of the apple tree, the green and brown patches of goose crap on the sidewalk indicating that yes, they are here and they mean to stay.

this morning when i got to the office i saw a bunch of geese on the green patch across the driveway. they were eating breakfast with the young ones, the wee balls of fluff- miniature geese in the making. miniature poop machines. but it was that lovely hue of sunlight, you know how morning sun has a much more orangey glow to it? it's just more rich in the morning, much like the evening. and they were eating in the sunlight on the grass and all i could think about was doing so myself and the many days of summer to come.

get on your bikes!

it's too bad the weather this weekend is supposed to be chilly, i was hoping for an island trip and bike ride. i suppose we can still do it, but maybe save the BBQing for warmer weather. we shall see.

i recently came in contact with a distant relative of ours who lives in the city. this is a real stretch of a relative, like how cheez whiz is related to actual cheese kind of stretch, but either way it's ice broken. well, it turns out she also sings and plays guitar, is a graphic designer, and loves arts of all kinds... we're having dinner tomorrow to talk about stuff.

i was such a shy kid, and still am a pretty shy adult. i never would have imagined that i would go out and meet someone completely new for dinner. it boggles my mind how good i am at talking to people i don't know... i suppose you can always find common ground even if it is simply the floor you're standing on.

anyway, here i sit at 3:37PM waiting for the work clock to run out so i can slide down the brontosaurus' tail to the who-knows-what weekend that awaits.

sick of your oblivion

you know, nike is onto something with this "just do it" slogan. they may be an evil corporation, but holy shit... the brilliance of such a simple phrase. today i feel the need to rant. my brain is really fighting me on this change i'm trying to make, but i will succeed (you hear me, brain?!) at finding peace and banishing anger from myself... oh yes, i will succeed.

maybe hormones, it is that time o the month, but i could not sleep for the life of me last night. up every half an hour wondering which state was real and which was dream, wondering if the voice i heard saying something was part of my subconscious or just someone in the alleyway, wondering why my brain just would not let me be. and it was my brain, i was trying my best to use what i've learned to bring myself out of it, but i suppose there were some demons to be exorcised with vivid dreams and waking up with tears in my eyes.

but today, i feel a bit more at peace. at least with who i am and want to be, once again. one night- there are nights.

for some reason my thoughts this morning are on living the life. i want to be famous! i want to be rich! i want to be this that the other oh shut the fuck up already... you want to be but you don't want to work at being... you kinda want life to just happen to you, but are then angry when what happens isn't what you'd hoped.

wake the fuck up, world. i feel like i have a message today, like i need to share my thoughts that perhaps someone will read them and say, hey, yeah, i feel the same way!

it truly amazes me how people misunderstand me- they think shy and quiet means i'll let anyone walk over me, or that i don't see a steaming turd for what it is. i see through almost all bullshit, i guarantee you that... and the bullshit of the hour on my mind is this world of getting fucked up and passing the blame.

don't get me wrong, i like getting high and buzzed, but it's all in good fun. it's not to kill certain feelings, it's not to hide from reality... it's leisure. but some of what i see, some people are just so caught up in living in circles that they can't see... getting fucked up all the time and acting like an ass isn't living the life, it's avoiding the life and disrespecting yourself. not to mention damaging your relationships with others when you start to act like an ass.

but that's easy, isn't it? blame the booze, blame the drugs, blame me, blame the establishment, blame your parents, blame and point always outward. truth is there is no peace but from within. at the end of the day it is only you who is able to control how you process the information you receive, what you accept, what you reject and what you will tolerate. only you.

so, dear world, take a look at the tip of that finger you use to blame the rest of us for your own choices and consequences, examine it closely, maybe you'll see your own ugly face of anger and resentment buried in the crevices of your fingerprint.

i know i did.

what a total mind fuck... those commercials with the cars doing stunts. thomas said that it is strange for them to show stuff you aren't actually skilled or permitted to do. good point.

why?

maybe because you possibly could do those things... you could but you won't because you care for your safety and the safety of others. perhaps because you are simply in control of your wild and crazy side. the suspense of your life- you may burst into a spontaneous beast at any moment (but probably won't ever)!

excitement and yet, a sense of logic... wild but wild with a purpose?

neenerneet. you are a segment on a chart and they pinned you down.

way to go, dingus.
