"we need bart to help fold your father's underwear."

as i so munch-ily and greedily crunched and devoured the sour tangerine altoids, i realized at least 30% were stuck in my molars. i said to my mom that the tin should come with a toothpick, she said, "you are not supposed to chew them up."

I responded: "i can't waiiiiit. i grew up in an instant society, i can't wait for candy to dissolve!"

What's the matter with the clothes I'm wearing
Can't you tell that your tie's too wide
Maybe I should buy some old tab collars
Welcome back to the age of jive
Where have you been hidin' out lately, honey
You can't dress trashy
'Til you spend a lot of money
Everybody's talkin' 'bout the new sound
Funny, but it's still rock and roll to me

What's the matter with the car I'm drivin'
Can't you tell that it's out of style
Should I get a set of white wall tires
Are you gonna cruise a miracle mile
Nowadays you can't be too sentimental
You best bet's a true baby blue Continental
Hot funk, cool punk, even if it's old junk
It's still rock and roll to me

Oh, it doesn't matter what they say in the papers
'Cause it's always been the same old scene
There's a new band in town
But you can't get the sound
From a story in a magazine
Aimed at your average teen

How about a pair of pink sidewinders
And a bright orange pair of pants
Well, you could really be a Beau Brummel baby
If you just give it half a chance
Don't waste your money on a new set of speakers
You get more mileage from a cheap pair of sneakers
Next phase, new wave , dance craze, anyways
It's still rock and roll to me

What's the matter with the crowd I'm seein'
Don't you know that their out of touch
Should I try to be a straight 'A' student
If you are then you think too much
Don't you know about the new fashion honey
All you need are looks and a whole lotta money
It's the next phase, new wave , dance craze, anyways
It's still rock and roll to me

Everybody's talkin' 'bout the new sound
Funny, but it's still rock and roll to me

more like 299.

so 300 was really good, as far as effects go. the way the story unfolded, however, left something to be desired, there was no real climax, the whole thing was sorta stuck in cardiac arrest.

i was early to meet, so i bought a triple shot coffee in hopes of warding off the incoming tiredness. success. though my success was delivered by the hands of starbucks, which i drank as i wandered around chapters poking and smearing arts books with my greasy hands. i couldn't help but feel like a complete douche.

i met ricardo for a couple beers at this small underground place called smokeless joe's. they had the same logo and font as shoeless joe's, and that's what i thought they were when we first walked by, but oh no. they have over 250 different types of beer, mostly from belgium and holland. we had pints of cameron's, haha. but they reinvented the BLT snadwich by adding slices of avocado and a wee bit-o-salsa, all served on dark rye, lightly toasted bread. it was heavenly.

feeling the need to scarf down another pint, we got to the theatre in time to find out the IMAX theatre was full. we were annoyed because at least 30% of the seats were taken up with coats, and we figured that hiring ushers would allow them to fit more people in. at $14 per head, and paying an usher nothing more than $10 per hour, that'd increase their profit. oh well. we caught the 7:30 show in the other theatre, and i had to pee not even half an hour into the movie. fucking beer.

ricardo pointed out the disappearing blood which was really a wonder of special effects, but still. the sand would have been pink by the time they were done, but there was no blood anywhere. but i liked it, i give it thumbs up not giving a rat's ass if it's a hype movie. it was worth it!

ya, so my boss just came to check on me 'cause i hadn't answered the phone, the past few calls, but i was in the terlit... waving my hands around to, um, circulate the air. and stuff.

gotta cold, too. them's good times.

i didn't even know what a nuclear panter plant was.

friday night saw me on the couch and up 'til 2am photoshopping pictures from the Gomez concert a couple weeks back. a slow computer is a bit off-putting.

on saturday, i got a haircut then headed down to my brother's place for some pre-festivities festivities including coffee, fatties, and the loudest half-drunken covert Christmas tree operation to have ever taken place.

hamilton was my final destination where many beers were consumed, post-haste. the bartender asked if i wanted green beer to which i replied, "no."

a girl in the crowd asked me what was up with my shirt. "are they a band, or...?" i told her they were a great band and that she should go see them, but she interrupted me and slurred:

"'cause it's juss so cool that like someone like you, tall, and goddess-like and stuff would like be wearing a shirt that says 'Priestess'. ya know? like a priestess, powerful..."

it kind of trailed off there as i was dealing with my own state of enhanced existence.

the gas-station tim hortons on the walk back to aaron's place yielded two free muffins and laughter about the other band's drummer's careful selection of his gas station sandwich. dude, they all taste like sausage, even the bread!

some sealab 2021, more fatty, bedtime, greasy spoon breakfast, drive home avoiding downtown at all costs.

slept 'til noon, though... not too tired now. what to do?

in the next few months i am purchasing THIS BAD BOY. i just want to know exactly which motherboard it has before doing so, as well, i'll need a bit more RAM. i am starting to learn InDesign at work, as well as flah 8 and i loves it!!! so i need to get these programs at home, and my computer right now would need:

-a new motherboard, it is currently socket 423 HERRO
-a new CPU, preferably something 3.0 GHz or more
-more RAM, it only has 256MB right now (!!)
-and a new fan that doesn't hit the casing, clackety clack

with all of those parts needed, it's cheaper to just get a new unit all together.

anyway, blah. i didn't even notice the world for about six hours at work today. that's how work should be. can't wait to not serve customers on the front lines.

friday = couch night. tomorrow? hamilton for st. patty's with the fatties and THE FATTIES, and of course... beer.

mastectomies are hilarious.

sometimes i foolishly believe that most anything should and can be hilariously joked about. then something someone posts strikes a sensitive nerve, and the blood pressure spikes, and i rethink my theory.

i get it. you're not interested. i pretty much stopped seeing things that way about a month ago, anyway... yet you still continue to tip-toe around me like i'm a fucking tool.

i suppose the cowardly thing is that you don't read this.

i also suppose i haven't said anything to you because i can't be 100% sure, though my gut has been dead on in most of these situations in the past.

it's okay, i was over my high school crush a while ago, but if you continue to inadvertently be a dick, i will tell you to fucking quit.

and no, i am not lying.

yes, that means you, Direct Energy!

We have probably already had about 15+ people come by for this service. they walk in with their name tag, folder of important business papers, and the attitude that they are not salespeople: they are trying to save you money! either the people who solicit for Direct Energy do not bother to read anything about the company or about gas rates, or they simply are bold-faced liars. i can never tell, though i am a skeptic so i lean towards the lying theory. but then again, people can be pretty sheepish when they think it's easy money to be had by registering people.

"what's in the briefcase?" "papers. just papers. you know, my papers. business papers."

every time they walk in, i sigh heavily and, since about visit number ten, right to their face. folded arms, slightly furrowed brows, stare them in the eyes- it emphasises my disdain. i do this in hopes that they will sense my absolute exhaustion with them coming by and insisting to see our energy bills, and perhaps they will go away quietly.

today's visitor stepped quietly up the front hallway, so quietly that i barely heard him coming. i'd use the phrase "like a thief" but that's a little too obvious. anyway, he got to the front office door and i met him there. insert sighing and furrowing.

i knew this one would be easy because i could sense he had less confidence than me, which always makes the transaction a bit easier. i'm not really a big talker, and i try not to be rude, so it's sometimes hard to deal. he left because i said the boss was too busy to go over bills with him. sidenote: how can they just walk into a place of business and expect that you're going to drop what you're doing and waste twenty minutes with them?

a few months ago, i had a very adamant woman, she just wouldn't leave. i even became rude and purposely obnoxious and she still would not leave. "you are not interested in saving money?" she said, in this condescending tone which always wins a sale. i eventually just said, "we are not interested," and started back to my desk. she stormed out like a baby. bye.

anyone with fingers and a brain can find articles about how their "savings plan" is based on poorly constructed extrapolations. they do not revise their brochures, and they are not honest in what they say when they interrupt your work, or in their paperwork. they are a privately owned company that has a contract with the government of Ontario, so they are selling something- they are selling their service. next time they come in i am going to give the person a printout of that article.

i'm sorry, but that sign on the door, no matter how faded- the one that reads, "NO CANVASSERS/SOLICITORS" that does apply to you, Direct Energy people. go away or face the wrath of my eyebrows.

activity points!

that's a weight watchers term. it's been an interesting week of relearning all of my good eating habits after a winter of discontent (heh). so far so good... sorta.

i dragged my mini-trambopoline out of the spare bedroom, aka the junk room, and i put it back in the living room. so now i bounce around while watching tv, it's fun! stinky doesn't too much care for the motion and has decided it is yet another thing at which he will bark incessantly. i put him on with me the other night and jumped tiny jumps, he looked down at the thing with such intesnity. it was like he was trying so hard to figure out what was going on that his little peanut brain was starting to sweat. then he jumped off, but so far it has worked to get him to not bark at me.

bodes well for my wasteline. waistline.

last night was fun. i left work and headed straight downtown to see a room for rent for cheeeeeeeap in a great neighbourhood. i hope she picks me. it's a dorm-type place, but better. there are two large rooms and no living room. the rooms are on either side of the bathroom and kitchen, which are shared. a giant window in each room- beautiful!

after that, i walked north and a bit west to meet up with raymi for our girl date thing. it was fun, we rented the movie and then got some good sushi at this place called "sushi club", a place where i felt like i belong. i got two salmon sushi pieces, two unagi sushi pieces, and a spicy salmon roll. we split a large, hot sake and talked about talky things. i was observing the walls before we left, and noticed the chef guy had pictures up of himself and christopher walken, and himself and clint eastwood. i know! anyway, when we left, the picture by the door actually said "christopher walker", oops.

yeah, so we had wine and movie night stuff, and more wine, then cid actually came over to make friends or use me for my body heat or whatever. he laid on my lap for a bit, then my leg started going a bit numb, he is a large cat. i liked the movie, and the jason schwartzman mock-CRIBS, too. phil came home and we had some Irish cheese that was arranged in an infinite step something, it was really good, but i don't know the name of it.

i left after a quick game of guitar hero and headed to the subway. i thought, for some reason, that i had a toonie and some quarters for my fare, but i only had a toonie and no more cash. so i walked all the way over to bathurst and used the green machine over there, then up home. it was a beautiful night, really warm (in Canadian terms) and stuff. i got home and had a slice of rye and cream cheese 'cause wine-starvation hit me, then off to loverly bed. i love my bed, i think i will marry it.

uhhhhhhhhh, yes this isn't a very creative post. my brain hurts today. i had corn bran squares for breakfast and they were the best breakfast ever™. crunchy, cold milk, good times folks...

i hope i get the room!!!!

The most annoying type of phone call to take is one where people insist you are an imbecile. They present their issue and automatically take the stance that YOU somehow screwed everything up because YOU are incapable of doing anything efficiently. They do this using words such as "upset" and "me" and "problem" and "never had this before" bla bla.

When the truth is that most of the delay was out of our hands. We were waiting for approvals and last-minute changes and these are contracted items- we can't just print whenever we want, whatever we want.

Suggesting logical solutions never helps. They only further solidify their stance by repeating what they originally said because, after all, I am an incapable (and deaf) imbecile and what I say must be incorrect. I must do all the footwork because I am customer service, and even if maybe the post office screwed up, I am God and am expected to shoulder the blame.

One of many reasons why I can't wait to get out of direct customer service. One of the other major reasons being that I just dislike people, in general, so there's that.

It kind of reminds me of when I was a kid, and all the retard, small-town idiots would mock my food, or my music choice, or me. Even though I could verbally break down their idiocy for them in logical half-steps, they simply remained correct no matter what. This followed into schooltime authority figures who were also never wrong. After all, they've made up their mind, they have their opinions, and there's no possible way that you, a lowly peon, could know more about a situation than them.

Except that I have always had heightened observational skills allowing me to do well on tests without really studying at all and to notice minutiae in most everything. Little details tell a better story than big ideas clouded by years of prejudgment and sympathy which, to this type of creature, is really just another word for pity.

There's one of you and thousands of them.

jimmmmyyyyyyy.

last night lisa and i went to see darren frost headline at yuk yuk's, it was good times. these people kept turning around and giving her stink-eye because she laughs loudly. oh, i'm sorry for laughing at a comedy club, my bad. i guess there are HARDCORE rules regulating laughter and decibels. anyway, when the show was over around one in the morn, they stood up to leave and we sat there finishing our beers and cold fries. the girls all turned around as if to finally get a glimpse of She Who Laughs Loudly™ and they were the most scarborough looking people i have ever seen. first, they all had dark roots and terrible perms, i lie not. one had her hair tied up and she says loudly that "i like the host better than darren" because everyone in the club is dyyyying to know your ghetto opinion.

anyway, we left and walked past this club called Notorious right next to yuk yuk's with a looooooooong line-up to get in. so we laughed at them as we walked by, and then i said really loudly that i heard that place was notorious...

we then deferred from richmond in hopes of finding a less occupied route. queen street was a bit better, even with CMW crap going on. a huge line-up at the rivoli, i guess somebody really important was going to be there, or people really craved jerk quesadillas, i can't be sure. the green machine was our destination. i found out earlier that i didn't have my bank card on me, i checked when i got to my brother's. weird. still can't locate it, which is unlike me, i keep good tabs on my shit. anyway, we got the money i required and i paid lisa back for the comedy ticket (she spotted me in the absence of a card and the fact that when i passed by the first time, en route from my brother's place, the green machine had some dude who probably put in the wrong pin three times saying "don't use it, it just ate my card"). we parted ways and she went off to meet her boyfriend somewhere. i should explain, i had a copy of my mom's VISA with me, which links to her checking account, so i was able to get cash, thankfully, which i transferred back this morning. i felt like such a kid, haha. i have mommy's card!

i started down spadina and stared in and wished le gourmand was open 'cause i had an immediate craving for a pain au chocolat, i.e. chocolate croissant. probably for the best they were closed, i've already started losing weight again and it feels good. that whole losing confidence thing was not cool.

i called raymi to see what she was up to, but they were in for the night, and i was pretty tired anyway. i tossed around the idea of stopping in at the foggy dew to see steve-o and have a last-call pint, but nah. i think that would have pushed me over the edge annnnnnnd i was already teetering! i grabbed a chicken shawarma with everything at this little place at king/bathurst. support the little guy, fuck mcdonald's (when it's convenient for me, of course). i was thinking of getting fajitas, but this was wayyy better and they probably need the business more. i also got a strawberry milk and went back to dre's and ate the shit outta that motherfucker. not ten minutes later i was asleep on couchy.

eight AM wake-up call and i'm home. slept for a bit, but i had to let stinky out to pee. his poor little bladder and heart. he is sleeping on my bed right now, i thin he's depressed 'cause mom and dad are down in hamilton for the weekend. he always sleeps away their absence because, apparently, i am very boring. i think i'm going to go for a hangover walk in a bit through the park/ravine. it's gorgeous outside and being able to walk from point-A to point-B last night was magical.

gomez pictures and walk pictures to come later.

the familiar sounds of home.

me on tuesday after steak & lobster, martinis, calamari, a whole bottle of valpolicello and then the last 20 minutes of the wolfmother show. thankfully it was free. plus they pretty much did this long, boring, self-indulgent trying-to-be-zeppelin wankery thing for the encore and it made me want to sleep anyway. good thing there was wine!

okay, so i started this thing up again in november and swore i wouldn't get as personal as i had before. once again i found myself in the midst of a fantastically emo february and, lo' and behold, too personal. i'm trying to start up a photog thing, plus i use my full name on work-related documents and i don't want anyone to decide to google my name and find this. less personal = no full names or links containing full names. i feel like a n00b.

so now i'm going to giv'er another go since i can and feel like it and last night was impulsive. i shoulda saved my sweetass template. oh well, that's what happens when you're me!

not minutes ago i was listening to my parents pontificating (loudly) about things they have never experienced, and about types of people they don't even know. the dog barked, wheel of fortune played its sad "you lost, you suck, go cry into your mom's armpit" sound, and all seemed right with the world. bankrupt? i think not.

did you know that pigtails are a good way to not have to wash your hair when you've only had eight hours sleep over two days and have had to work during those days, also? they are! fantastic. i sometimes think my boss knows my hair patterns: day1:washed/cleaned/styled-- day2:washed yesterday and still kinda styled but definitely slept on-- day3:up in a ponytail-- day4: so tired and lazy, PIGTAILS! curly hair stays looking not-greasy for longer, and if my hair ever starts to smell i wash it right away. smell=gross.

okay, i'm going to watch the boob tube now 'cause i likes it, preciousssss (old school reference! WORD!).
