wow, coke-face and attitude: surprise!

so the other night i was oot and aboot with P., after comedy at the rivoli, and we wandered about queen west. we went to the Rhino for a beer and free pool (i actually won one game!), then walked outside and ended up just grabbing another drink upstairs at the Drake. i have only ever been to the underground to see a band or two play, eons ago. it's not really a place i frequent 'cause a)far from my 'hood, b)when i go out on a saturday i'd rather not wait in line to get in somewhere, then stand there elbow to elbow once inside, c)the drinks are esspensive!

anyway, we go upstairs, order drinks, P. grabs the table over by the lookout and i am waiting to pay. the guy at the counter says they don't take interac, so i went downstairs to use the ATM.

when i came back up to the bar, our drinks were sitting there waiting but this guy was standing in front of them. he had his drink in hand, and was almost moving away from the bar before deciding to stop (right in front of our drinks) halfway and text someone, or check his text messages, or what the fuck ever.

so i put my hand gently on his shoulder and said, "'scuuuuuse me," in a friendly way, just saying hey, my drinks are there, you're done, i'd like to pay and go sit down...

he started to move then i feel him stop. he turns around:

"Are you pushing me out of the way?"

"Um, no, I said excuse me..."

"WELL I DIDN'T HEAR EXCUSE ME, ARE YOU PUSHING ME OUT OF THE WAY?"

"I said excuse me."

"Alright, well how's your night going?"

"Good."

What the fuck? The look on his face- he was angry with me, angry as if he knew me and had any right to speak to me that way. I got so angry that I barely heard what P. said when i went back to the table, until i told him about it. i opted not to instigate anything because i could tell he was, um, a little "high strung" and, well, to what end? get in a fight and let some asshole ruin my evening? fuck no. fuck you.
