happy post.

the reason i ignore the news, for the most part, is because of days like today- a good friend works for a tour company with an office in kenya and has spent the week with no sleep in order to talk to them and keep up on what's going on... she said she got a text from one guy who said he heard screaming coming from his neighbour's house and that he was scared.

so i ignore the news a lot of the time because when i read shit like this:

"The president is expected to meet Tutu on Friday, though even before the meeting government spokesman Alfred Mutua said the country has no need for mediators. 'We are not in a civil war,' he said." (cbc.ca)

it makes me so angry i could spend the weekend in a crying ball in my bed. my heart goes out to them, what the fuck else can i do? protests and rallies here do nothing, i mean if a meeting with Tutu isn't going to help then why don't we just nuke the world and say fuck it? it seems we all have some unconscious want to die anyway, and surviving is simply what we're supposed to do.
